How to Reduce Dandruff in Your Hair

}Dandruff, according to the Oxford Advance Learners Dictionary is described as “very small pieces of dead skin, seen as white dust in a person’s hair.” Medical experts have also stated that dandruff occur as a result of the renewal of your skin. If you have a lot of dandruff, it means that you shed your old skin more often, except there is a medical condition such as psoriasis, Malassezia, seborrheic dermatitis. Head lice could also be the cause of your dandruff.

Psoriasis is a skin disorder that causes an accumulation of dead skin cells that form thick, silvery scales. Even though, psoriasis commonly occurs on your knees, elbows and trunk, it can also affect your scalp.

Seborrheic dermatitis on the other hand, is one of the most frequent causes of dandruff. It is marked by red, greasy skin covered with flaky white or yellow scales. Likepsoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis may affect not only your scalp, but also other areas rich in oil glands, such as your eyebrows, the sides of your nose and the backs of your ears, your breastbone, your groin area, and sometimes your armpits.

Malassezia is a fungal infection that lives on the scalps. It might not cause problems, but when it grows out of control, it feeds on the oils secreted by your hair follicles. This can irritate the skin on your scalp and cause more skin cells to grow. The extra skin cells die and fall off, clumping with oil from your hair and scalp, making them appear white and flaky in your hair. Oftentimes, this eruption is identical to or closely resembles seborrheic dermatitis.

Other causes of dandruff could be dry skin, lack of enough shampoo, eczema and sensitive hair care products.

 Treatment

Dandruff has been identified as a condition that might not be totally eliminated because the shedding of skin is not seen as a medical problem. There are ways therefore to reduce the irritation caused – itching or flaky white particles on your hair/clothes or self-esteem.

You can shampoo your hair more frequently with anti-dandruff shampoo. If you have your hair braided into individuals such as singles, micros, kinky twist, you can work through the hair with warm water. If you have weaves on, you can do the same if it is sewn-in. You might not be able to shampoo a bonded weaves the glue might become weak and come off the hair.

Using hair cream that helps reduce dandruff is also helpful. It might be difficult to find the right one, but the ones that have anti-dandruff agent will work.

Certain kinds of food have been identified to help reduce dandruff, including, lemon, olive oil, salmon and food high in Vitamin B6 and B12.

Lemon juice is said to help bring the pH level of the scalp back to a healthy level. When the pH level of the scalp is altered with the use of hair care products, or from secretions of the scalp, lemon is most effective. Massage a few tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice directly into the scalp and then rinse out thoroughly with cold water. Restoring the scalps natural pH balance will help to treat current dandruff, as well as prevent future dandruff.

Olive oil helps to loosen dandruff on the scalp and also helps to moisturize the scalp. Olive oil works best when it is warmed lightly and then massaged into the scalp. Leave it on for a total of 20 to 30 minutes then rinse out gently with warm water. This treatment works best to treat and prevent dandruff when it is used twice per week.

Salmon and Foods High in Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B12 helps to cure dandruff because experts have found that one of the most common causes of dandruff is actually a deficiency of both vitamin B6 and vitamin B12. This often causes seborrheic dermatitis. If this condition is a factor in dandruff, it’s important to increase foods that are high in these vitamins. Salmon is high in both of these foods. It is also of the best options since salmon is great for a healthy diet. Other foods that are high in these vitamins include beef, vegetables, whole grain cereal, egg, and liver.

If you think you have a medical condition or are having hair loss, consult your doctor.

Balanced diet is the source of general healthy body. However, when you consume certain kinds of vegetables, you add to the promotion of growing a healthy hair. Green leafy vegetables are rich in vitamins B1, 2, 6, 7 and 12. They contain folic acid and promote healthy hair.

Spinach:  is a good source of Vitamins A and C. Your body needs these vitamins to produce sebum, an oily substance secreted by your hair follicle, which is the body’s natural hair conditioner.

Lettuce: contains a good spectrum of minerals and the vitamin content includes a fair amount of carotene. A mixture of lettuce and spinach juice is said to help the growth of hair if drunk to the extent of a pint or so a day.

Broccoli: contains vitamin A like Spinach. It is an antioxidant that helps maintain the natural oil in the scalp.

Swiss Chard: contains a variety of vitamins that do not only promote hair growth but help other parts of the body, including vitamin K, A, C, E, manganese, magnesium, iron, potassium and dietary fiber. Swiss chard contains Biotin, otherwise known as Vitamin B7 or Vitamin H, which keeps hair from falling out. Not getting enough Biotin in the diet can result in more severe hair loss including eyelashes and eyebrows.

Make Coarse Hair Soft in 10 Minutes

June 27, 2012 by admin

A black person is born with soft curly beautiful hair. At birth, the hair combs easily and looks nice. As soon as your child becomes a toddler, however, it is amazing how the soft hair turns into coarse hard hair. For a few, the hair will still be soft, even though the curls are no longer visible like that of a newborn. Others have to deal with a painful coarse hair, where combing is almost impossible. For those who have sensitive scalp, hair combing becomes a nightmare.Over the years, several inventions came through product development to help people with coarse hair manage their hair better and without pain. The most popular with uncountable brand names is the relaxer. Relaxer turns curly hair into straight in minutes. The side effect of using relaxer is the ability it has to over process your hair.

When this occurs, you could develop thinning hair or breakage. In extreme situation, you could loss your hair. Sometimes, depending on how long you leave the crème in or how sensitive your scalp is to such chemicals, you could have burns.
